When you check in with us, all guests staying with us fill out a registration form. It is our proof in case of emergencies, possibly with the police or emergency services. Filling in this form is therefore mandatory.

Identification is always mandatory, by means of a passport/driver's license/ID card.
It is mandatory to pay in advance
We can accommodate a maximum of 12 people per "floor".
Since we have 2 floors, this comes down to 24 people in total for our entire hostel.
When you book a single or double compartment with us, you can cancel free of charge 48 hours before arrival. If you cancel 24 hours before arrival, you will pay 50% of the reservation costs. If you cancel within 24 hours before arrival, you will pay 100% of the reservation costs.
If you have booked an entire floor with us, you can cancel with us free of charge up to 2 weeks before arrival. If you cancel a week before arrival, you will pay 50% of the reservation costs. If you cancel within a week, you will pay 100% of the reservation costs.
If you do not check in with us before 8pm and we have not received a message that you wish to check in later than this time, we will re-release the room for any new reservations. In addition, we will charge you the amount of the first night if it turns out that you did not come without cancelling.
Check-in is possible at our hostel on the day of arrival from 3pm and check-out on the day of departure is at 11am at the latest.
On the day of arrival you can do this from 2pm, you pay extra for this. However, this can only be done in consultation with us. This is completely dependent on our availability and therefore not always possible.
It is always possible to drop off your baggage with us before you check in. However, leaving your belongings with us is at your own risk.
On the day of departure possible until 1pm and extendable until 2pm at the latest. You pay extra for this. Given our availability, this is only possible in consultation with us and is therefore not always possible.
Unfortunately, tourist tax is levied on the overnight stays you stay with us. This has been determined by the municipality and for 2024 a rate of €2.50 per person, per night applies.
This amount is in addition to the amount of the overnight stay and must be paid when you check in with us.
At Hostel Het Archief we offer our guests the opportunity to take a compartment option for your desired dates. A compartment option is a temporary (optional) reservation that gives the guest the guarantee that a specific compartment will remain available for their intended period of stay.
How long the option remains in force varies from situation to situation. That is why it is important and only possible to obtain an option in our hostel, by contacting us and discussing the situation.
To confirm the option, the guest must contact Hostel Het Archief within the specified period. The confirmation of the option will only be completed and converted into a final reservation upon receipt of the required payment in accordance with the current rate and the validity of the option.
Taking an option is subject to availability and the terms and conditions of our hostel. Hostel Het Archief reserves the right to cancel the option if the required conditions are not met.

By taking an option, the guest acknowledges the above-mentioned terms and conditions and agrees to the applicable cancellation and payment conditions of Hostel Het Archief.
To make the experience as pleasant as possible for everyone who comes to stay with us, we have drawn up a number of rules. We ask you to read and comply with them carefully. You can be called to account for these points if we notice that they are not being complied with.
Together we are responsible for a pleasant atmosphere in the hostel. Everyone should feel comfortable and safe. This includes taking each other into account.
- Use the kitchen in consultation. For groups we ask for a deposit for the use of the kitchen.
- The hostel is not suitable for long-term housing.
Longer stays in consultation with us.
- No smoking or smoking in the building (no e-cigarettes or vapers either).
- It is forbidden to use drugs in and around the building.
- It is forbidden to eat or drink in the dormitories (you can do this in the living room downstairs).
- Anything related to abuse of drugs or alcohol exempts the property from denying you entry.
- Pets are not allowed.
- Silence is observed in the dormitories.
- There are waste bins in the living room to separate waste. Please make use of this. We strive for a separate waste stream.
- When checking in and out, always go to the desk first. We want to know who is staying with us.
- Do you have a friend over? It is mandatory to inform us of this. We want to know who it is and how long they think they will stay.
- For the use of a Clicker we ask for a deposit of €50,-. In case of loss or damage to the Clicker, we will use the deposit to buy a new Clicker.
- When using the kitchen, we ask for a deposit of €300,-. In case of Damage to the kitchen, we will use the deposit to repair the damage. Any higher costs will still be charged.
- In the event of damage to the building and possessions, we will pass on the costs to the relevant responsible party.
You can have your clothes washed with us. You can drop it off at the reception before 9 a.m. in the morning. You will get it back from us at the end of the day after 6 pm. Costs for washing are €2,50 per wash. Drying costs an additional €2,50. Washing with us is entirely at your own risk and we are not responsible for any damage or loss of garments before, during or after washing. We also do not guarantee that stains will be completely removed from the clothing.
It is not allowed to make (loud) calls in the sleeping quarters. Playing music and other things that could cause a nuisance are also not allowed in the dormitories. This is of course allowed in the living room area, but keep each other in mind. So don't call too loud and set the television to an acceptable volume.
We have a large waste bin under the stairs that goes up to the dormitories. You can throw your returnable bottle or can in here. All the money we raise goes to charity.
The use of our accommodation is entirely at your own risk. We are in no way responsible for any loss or theft of property.
We would like to advise you to take out travel insurance before arrival for extra protection.
Hostel Het Archief (Staatsman Logeren B.V.) accepts no liability for loss, theft, damage or unauthorized access to personal property located within the facilities of the hostel, including but not limited to hotel rooms, parking lots, common areas and other facilities.
Guests are strongly advised to keep valuables in the lockers provided for this purpose and to take precautions and not leave personal belongings unattended in public areas.
By using the facilities of Hostel Het Archief, guests acknowledge that Hostel Het Archief (Staatsman Logeren B.V.), its employees and representatives are not liable for any form of loss, theft, damage or unauthorized access to personal belongings.
Guests are advised to purchase appropriate insurance to protect their personal belongings. For further questions or clarifications, please contact the reception.
Personal data will never be provided to third parties, unless we are obliged to do so by law and/or in the event of calamities.
We will not keep personal data longer than necessary. This means that we will destroy the data no later than 2 years after check-out + payment obligation.
As long as we do have the data in our possession, it will be carefully stored behind closed doors. The data is only accessible to employees of the front-office and owners of Hostel Het Archief.
